ANGELICA IS A UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN ALUMNA, RECEIVING HER B.A. IN SOCIOLOGY WITH A DOUBLE MINOR IN AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES AND CREATIVE WRITING. SHE IS CURRENTLY A GOLDWATER FELLOW AND ADJUNCT PROFESSOR AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY, PURSUING HER MFA IN CREATIVE WRITING (POETRY).

Angelica is a Creative Futures Collective x Soho House Mentorship Alumna (SP '23), a Delacreme Scholar and recipient of the "Build The Crib" Art Fellowship (FA '22), a recipient of the UIUC Black Acknowledgement of Excellence Award: Creative of The Year (SP '22), a two-time recipient of the Charles & Susan Shattuck Prize (SP ‘22, SP ‘19) for “Pool Players” and “A Freak For Poetry”, a Folger Adam, Jr. Prize winner (SP ‘21) for “Ode to My Period Stained Panties”, a Junior Quinn Prize Award winner (SP ‘21), a recipient of the Kevin T. Early Memorial Prize (FA’18) for “Curls”. and the 1st place winner of Mikva Challenge Project SOAPBOX (FA '17) for her speech on the affects of racial stigmatization on Black youth.
